  ICAR-CIRB Scientists Received National Awards on 88th ICAR Foundation Day

On the occasion of 88th ICAR Foundation Day, Krishak Goshthi and ICAR Award Ceremony on 16th  July at Vigyan  Bhavan, New Delhi,  Dr Hema Tripathi, Principal scientist received the Bharat Ratna Dr C. Subramaniam Award for Outstanding Teachers 2015 for promoting quality teaching in the field of Social Sciences. The award consists of ₹1.00 lakh in cash and a citation. 

Dr Naresh Selokar scientist and Dr Monika Saini, Young Professional II, Animal Reproduction & Physiology at CIRB received Jawaharlal Nehru Award for P.G. Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Research in Agricultural and Allied Sciences-2015 in field of Animal Science & Biotechnology, respectively. Each of them received 50,000/-in cash plus a citation and gold plated silver medal.   The awards were conferred by the Chief guest of the function,  Shri Radha Mohan Singh ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Govt of India, New Delhi.

 

Shri S.S. Ahluwalia, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs; Shri Parshottam Rupala, Union  Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Panchayati Raj; and Shri Sudarshan Bhagat, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare also graced the occasion as Guests of Honor. Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR welcomed the dignitaries and Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Additional Secretary, DARE and Secretary, ICAR proposed the vote of thanks.

International Yoga Day Celebrated

 ICAR-CIRB celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2016 wherein  two yoga sessions were held under the dynamic leadership of Director, Dr Inderjeet Singh. At the start of the session, Dr PS Yadav, coordinator of the program  welcomed the Yoga teachers Sh Shyam Singla from Bihar school of Yoga and BK Manju, BK Sudesh, Dr Ravinder Kaushik and Dr RK Malik from Prajapita Brahma Kumari IshwariaVishvidlaya, RajYog Kendra, Hisar. Director, all scientists and staff pledged to make Yoga an integral part of their daily life for good health and peace. All staff including students taken deep interest in the program.

 

 

Sh. Shyam Singla explained the importance of different facets of yoga as Yoga covers all aspects of the body, mind and personality. Breathing exercises and music power yoga were practised on music beats by all.  Sister BK Manju from Brahma Kumari, Raj Yog Kendra Hisar practised Rajyog for peace of mind and good health.

माननीय श्री मोहन भाई कुंडारिया,केन्द्रीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण राज्य मंत्री,भारत सरकार का केन्द्रीय भैंस अनुसंधान संस्थान में दौरा

 

माननीय श्री मोहन भाई कुंडारिया, केन्द्रीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण राज्य मंत्री भारत सरकार ने केन्द्रीय भैंस अनुसंधान संस्थान का 31 मई 2016 को दौरा किया । संस्थान के निदेशक डा. इन्द्रजीत सिंह ने मंत्री जी को कृषि फार्म व पशुशालाओं का भ्रमण करवाया तथा संस्थान में चल रहे शोध कार्यों के बारे में बताया । मंत्री जी ने उत्कृष्ट शोध कार्य के लिए निदेशक व सभी वैज्ञानिकों को बधाई दी । मुर्रा भैंस तथा अन्य नस्लों के संरक्षण व संवर्धन में संस्थान के देश-विदेश में योगदान की प्रशंसा की तथा मंत्रालय से संस्थान की हर संभव मदद का भरोसा दिलाया । इस अवसर पर मुर्रा भैंस पालक कल्याण संगठन से संबंद्ध पदाधिकारी व किसान भी मंत्री जी से मिले तथा भैंस पालन को अधिक प्रोत्साहित व फायदेमंद बनाने के कुछ सुझाव व संगठन के विकास संबंधी एक अनुरोध पत्र भी दिया ।

                          An In-House Training for Technical Officers under HRD

 

Icar-Cirb organized 03 days In-House training programme  on “Use of Computer and Research Data Management for Technical Officers”  from 23-25 June, 2016  at main campus as per the Annual Training Plan (ATP) of the institute. The aim was to motivate technical officers to understand their responsibility for day to day data management with the use of computer, sharpening capacities to effective execute ideas for management and presentation of research data / farm production statistics and to train the participants with hands-on exercises in research data management. Technical officers Dr. A K Saini, Sh. Krishan Kumar and Dr. Rajesh attended the training.  The programme comprised lectures, hands-on exercises for data management on computer on basics of data, structure of data, classification and tabulation, feeding in computer with MS world and excel sheet, basic analysis and graphical presentation and use of FMS in day to day institute activities.

 Dr.Inderjeet Singh, Director, ICAR-CIRB, Hisar emphasized that attitude of a person plays most important role for the success in his life and ultimately improve the institute work competence and repute In inaugural address. He reminded that technical staff is the strength of research project and their support through the use of computers in research data management will improve the project output and results.  The training programme was organized by Dr.  Dr. K P Singh  Principal  Scientist &  HRD  Nodal  Officer, along with Dr. Sajjan Singh,  and Dr. Jerome.

Training on scientifically improved nutritional & management practices for buffalo husbandry in village Landhri

 

CIRB organised   four days off-campus training for farmers on scientific nutritional & management practices for improving buffalo productivity in village Landhri, Hisar. 116 respondents participated in training from 14- 17 June. Scientists discussed important topics as salient phenotype characters to identify Murrah breed for procurement, significance of feeding balanced -ration and regular use of mineral mixture to prevent incidence of several reproduction and production related problems through lectures under able guidance of Director, Dr Inderjeet Singh.

 

Experts demonstrated the use of institute web-site by farmers for making buffalo related quarries and giving feedback to scientists using interactive platform, developed under ICT initiatives to communicate with scientists in a group of participants.

Essentials like maintenance of records of incidence of disease, oestrus symptoms, details of vaccination/ semen doses of AI, days of insemination and their role in improvement of animal performance were discussed during training. All queries related to buffalo health problems as enquired by farmers were responded by Veterinary health experts. Health doctors attended to problems related to dystokia, mastitis, postpartum anoestrus, post abortion infections, underweight calves, etc.

While concluding the training, Director emphasised on need of working in groups for adopting scientific procedures and practices in day to day buffalo husbandry to improve productivity. Adoption of practices like procurement of high merit semen doses for AI in buffaloes, procurement of right kind of mineral mixture, to develop processed milk and product units in village after undertaking training on milk- processing practices at specific govt. organizations as NDRI, Karnal for high profits was discussed.

 

Farmers took keen interest in training and in procuring CIRB mineral mixture during training. 50 packets of mineral mixture were sold @Rs. 90/pk. Farmers interacted openly with scientists during all four days of training. Training was coordinated by group of scientists comprising Dr P Sikka, Dr K P Singh, Dr V Mudgal and Shri Ramchander.
