ICAR-CIRB organized Swachhta Campaign in village Badi Nyagal, village of Churu district of Rajasthan

Swachhata Pakhwada’ is being organized at ICAR-CIRB during 16-31st October, 2016. In this regard, an effort was made to further extend this effort and to sensitize the youth of villages adopted by CIRB under ‘Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav’ on 24th October, 2016. Quiz competition, slogan competition and extempore speaking competitions were organized in BRJD College, Badi Nyagal, village of Churu district of Rajasthan. In this event, about 100 students of science, commerce and arts streams participated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since, these students belonged to five adopted villages, the effort will be a boon to sensitize the youth about importance of ‘Swachhta’ of these villages. Students evinced keen interest in quiz competition and replied some of the questions related to ‘Swachhta Abhiyaan’. Beautiful slogans were also written by the students on importance of ‘Swachhta’. Students were also motivated to participate in extempore speaking on topics related to environment, cleanliness and other issues pertaining to ‘Swachhta’. The scientists of the institute also participated in cleanliness of classrooms of the college along with the students. Thus, the event was a grand success as the students were educated about the importance of cleanliness of their college, surroundings and their respective villages.

ICAR- CIRB Organised Kisan Gosthi & Balanced Feeding Demonstration at village Nimoth, Rewari on 13.09.2016

 

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes organised a Kisan Gosthi, Demonstration of Balanced Feeding to Animals, Health check-up Camp at Village  Nimoth, Rewari, Haryana on 13.09.2016. Experts from ICAR-CIRB, Hisar, ICAR-IARI, Karnal, CCS HAU,Hisar, Haryana Agriculture Deptt., Haryana Animal Husbandry Deptt. and Regional Manager and team from UPL Pharma Company delivered lectures on various topics. The topics covered were reproduction related problem and oestrous detection in buffaloes, importance of balanced feeding, mineral mixture & its importance in animal nutrition, vaccination, deworming, summer management in buffaloes, colostrum feeding, care & management of new born calves and record keeping etc. Seed Production and source of quality seeds for different crops and its post-harvest management, major crop diseases and their control with special reference to wheat, barley, mustard and cotton, various scheme of state and central Govt. for farmers especially the Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna and use of pesticides and insecticides in crops were the other topics covered in the Kisan Gosthi. Animal Health check-up, Artificial insemination and mineral mixture distribution was also done on the side-lines of the Kisan Gosthi. The schedule for crop sampling required for Fasal Bima Yojna was also provided by the ADO. A special question answer session was organised to address the queries of the farmers related to buffalo husbandry and crop production.

 

About 200 farmers, farm women and rural youths from village Nimoth, Dhani Thethar Badh and nearby villages participated in the Kiasn Gosthi. The CIRB scientist’s team lead by Dr SS Dahiya Principal Scientist (Animal Nutrition) and I/C TOTE included Dr PS Yadav Principal Scientist (Animal Physiology) and Dr RK Sharma, Principal Scientists and Head, APR Division, Dr Ranjit Singh SRF, Dr Vikas Chaudhary SRF and Sh Rajmal.

 

To make the Kiasn Gosthi wholesome knowledge dissemination platform experts from ICAR Institutes, SAUs and line departments were also invited. These  included Dr Ram Niwas, Principal Scientist (Plant Breeding), IARI; Dr Naresh Kumar, Scientist (Plant pathology) CCSHAU, Hisar, Dr PS Sabarawal, Deputy Director Agriculture (Rewari),  Dr Rohtas, Vety Surgeon & Incharge Diseases Diagnostic lab, Rewari), Dr Veer Kumar ADO (Mandola), 

Shri Satyawan, Sarpanch, Panchayat members and school teacher Sh Sanjay Kumar extended full support for successful organization of the Kisan Gosthi.

 ICAR- CIRB participated in Pashu Palan Mela at GADVASU, Ludhiana during Sept., 22-23, 2016 

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes Participated in Pashu Palan Mela, at GADVASU, Ludhiana during September 22-23, 2016. CIRB put up its stall showcasing various technologies developed by the institute. Dr. AS Nanda, honourable Vice Chancellor visited our stall and took keen interest in the exhibits put up by the institute, Punjab. A large number of farmers from Punjab and adjoining states visited the mela to know the latest livestock farming practices and technologies. The Kisan gosthi and scientist farmers’ interaction sessions were also the main attraction of the Mela. Dr SS Dahiya, Principal Scientist, CIRB delivered a lecture in the Kisan Gosthi highlighting various activities and research being undertaken at  CIRB and actively participated in scientist farmers interaction sessions. Institutes

Workshop on research & innovation opportunities in Europe for higher studies and research grants

EURAXESS Information Session on Research & Innovation Opportunities in Europe was organized at CIRB, Hisar on 30th August 2016 in association with EURAXESS Links India. EURAXESS is a unique platform to access complete range of information and support services for researchers from all over the world wishing to pursue research career in Europe. More than 70 researchers from CIRB, NRC-Equine, LUVAS, HAU and GJU were participated and took keen interest and interacted with European Union funding agency representatives. This session provided platform for researchers to know about various opportunities offered by European Union for them such as European Research Council Grants, MSCA Individual Fellowships, Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, CNRS, CEFIPRA and many more. Event was an informative cum networking tool for researchers; Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Director, CIRB encouraged participants to apply for various
